India’s Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas are a system of central schools for gifted students who lack access to accelerated learning due to social, financial, and rural disadvantages. The majority of JNVs’ students come from rural areas. They are managed by Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti, Noida, an independent organization that is part of the Ministry of Education Department of School Education and Literacy[a].
