Charging & Battery Life
BMW claims that the i5 is equipped with an 84.3-kWh battery pack located underneath the floorboards. This battery pack has enough capacity to power the eDrive40 model for a distance of 295 miles before needing to be recharged. On the other hand, the M60 model, which has dual motors, is less efficient and can travel an estimated distance of 256 miles on a single charge.
The i5’s battery pack can be connected to DC fast-charging stations and is capable of charging from 10 to 80 percent in just 30 minutes when using this type of connection.
