Renault Rafale Powertrain, Hybrid System
The carmaker said the Rafale is “a vehicle brought up for driving joy”. There will be two different versions of it. The Rafale’s 194 horsepower clutchless hybrid powertrain is available at launch. It is powered by two electric motors and a 1.2-liter, three-cylinder gasoline engine. A four-speed automatic gearbox transmits power to the front wheels from the 127 horsepower Atkinson Cycle engine. A 66hp electric drive engine (with its own indispensable two-speed canine box) is sandwiched between the motor and the principal gearbox.
The subsequent electric engine is an incorporated starter-generator that turns over the petroleum motor, gathers energy when the vehicle drifts or brakes and can help with speed increase when required. Because the vehicle always starts on electric power alone and the electric motor controls the meshing of the two-speed dog box, this electronically controlled powertrain does not require a clutch.
The Renault Rafale boasts a number of noteworthy features, including a newly created Solarbay darkening glass roof, dashboard-mounted dual 12-inch OpenR screens. Seats with red, white, and blue overstitching, a 9.3-inch head-up display. Movable mood lighting, and an integrated Google system with Maps, Google Assistant, and a number of other applications. Along with other useful features, it also offers wired and wireless connectivity with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The Rafale has an outstanding selection of 32 ADAS, or advanced driver assistance systems, for safety.
