दोहा :

* प्रेम मगन मनु जानि नृपु करि बिबेकु धरि धीर।
बोलेउ मुनि पद नाइ सिरु गदगद गिरा गभीर॥215॥

भावार्थ:-मन को प्रेम में मग्न जान राजा जनक ने विवेक का आश्रय लेकर धीरज धारण किया और मुनि के चरणों में सिर नवाकर गद्‍गद्‍ (प्रेमभरी) गंभीर वाणी से कहा- ॥215॥

चौपाई :

* कहहु नाथ सुंदर दोउ बालक। मुनिकुल तिलक कि नृपकुल पालक॥
ब्रह्म जो निगम नेति कहि गावा। उभय बेष धरि की सोइ आवा॥1॥

भावार्थ:-हे नाथ! कहिए, ये दोनों सुंदर बालक मुनिकुल के आभूषण हैं या किसी राजवंश के पालक? अथवा जिसका वेदों ने ‘नेति’ कहकर गान किया है कहीं वह ब्रह्म तो युगल रूप धरकर नहीं आया है?॥1॥

* सहज बिरागरूप मनु मोरा। थकित होत जिमि चंद चकोरा॥
ताते प्रभु पूछउँ सतिभाऊ। कहहु नाथ जनि करहु दुराऊ॥2॥

भावार्थ:-मेरा मन जो स्वभाव से ही वैराग्य रूप (बना हुआ) है, (इन्हें देखकर) इस तरह मुग्ध हो रहा है, जैसे चन्द्रमा को देखकर चकोर। हे प्रभो! इसलिए मैं आपसे सत्य (निश्छल) भाव से पूछता हूँ। हे नाथ! बताइए, छिपाव न कीजिए॥2॥

* इन्हहि बिलोकत अति अनुरागा। बरबस ब्रह्मसुखहि मन त्यागा॥
कह मुनि बिहसि कहेहु नृप नीका। बचन तुम्हार न होइ अलीका॥3॥

भावार्थ:-इनको देखते ही अत्यन्त प्रेम के वश होकर मेरे मन ने जबर्दस्ती ब्रह्मसुख को त्याग दिया है। मुनि ने हँसकर कहा- हे राजन्‌! आपने ठीक (यथार्थ ही) कहा। आपका वचन मिथ्या नहीं हो सकता॥3॥

* ए प्रिय सबहि जहाँ लगि प्रानी। मन मुसुकाहिं रामु सुनि बानी॥
रघुकुल मनि दसरथ के जाए। मम हित लागि नरेस पठाए॥4॥

भावार्थ:-जगत में जहाँ तक (जितने भी) प्राणी हैं, ये सभी को प्रिय हैं। मुनि की (रहस्य भरी) वाणी सुनकर श्री रामजी मन ही मन मुस्कुराते हैं (हँसकर मानो संकेत करते हैं कि रहस्य खोलिए नहीं)। (तब मुनि ने कहा-) ये रघुकुल मणि महाराज दशरथ के पुत्र हैं। मेरे हित के लिए राजा ने इन्हें मेरे साथ भेजा है॥4॥

दोहा :

* रामु लखनु दोउ बंधुबर रूप सील बल धाम।
मख राखेउ सबु साखि जगु जिते असुर संग्राम॥216॥

भावार्थ:-ये राम और लक्ष्मण दोनों श्रेष्ठ भाई रूप, शील और बल के धाम हैं। सारा जगत (इस बात का) साक्षी है कि इन्होंने युद्ध में असुरों को जीतकर मेरे यज्ञ की रक्षा की है॥216॥

चौपाई :

* मुनि तव चरन देखि कह राऊ। कहि न सकउँ निज पुन्य प्रभाऊ॥
सुंदर स्याम गौर दोउ भ्राता। आनँदहू के आनँद दाता॥1॥

भावार्थ:-राजा ने कहा- हे मुनि! आपके चरणों के दर्शन कर मैं अपना पुण्य प्रभाव कह नहीं सकता। ये सुंदर श्याम और गौर वर्ण के दोनों भाई आनंद को भी आनंद देने वाले हैं।

* इन्ह कै प्रीति परसपर पावनि। कहि न जाइ मन भाव सुहावनि॥
सुनहु नाथ कह मुदित बिदेहू। ब्रह्म जीव इव सहज सनेहू॥2॥

भावार्थ:-इनकी आपस की प्रीति बड़ी पवित्र और सुहावनी है, वह मन को बहुत भाती है, पर (वाणी से) कही नहीं जा सकती। विदेह (जनकजी) आनंदित होकर कहते हैं- हे नाथ! सुनिए, ब्रह्म और जीव की तरह इनमें स्वाभाविक प्रेम है॥2॥

* पुनि पुनि प्रभुहि चितव नरनाहू। पुलक गात उर अधिक उछाहू॥
मुनिहि प्रसंसि नाइ पद सीसू। चलेउ लवाइ नगर अवनीसू॥3॥

भावार्थ:-राजा बार-बार प्रभु को देखते हैं (दृष्टि वहाँ से हटना ही नहीं चाहती)। (प्रेम से) शरीर पुलकित हो रहा है और हृदय में बड़ा उत्साह है। (फिर) मुनि की प्रशंसा करके और उनके चरणों में सिर नवाकर राजा उन्हें नगर में लिवा चले॥3॥

* सुंदर सदनु सुखद सब काला। तहाँ बासु लै दीन्ह भुआला॥
करि पूजा सब बिधि सेवकाई। गयउ राउ गृह बिदा कराई॥4॥

भावार्थ:-एक सुंदर महल जो सब समय (सभी ऋतुओं में) सुखदायक था, वहाँ राजा ने उन्हें ले जाकर ठहराया। तदनन्तर सब प्रकार से पूजा और सेवा करके राजा विदा माँगकर अपने घर गए॥4॥

दोहा :

* रिषय संग रघुबंस मनि करि भोजनु बिश्रामु।
बैठे प्रभु भ्राता सहित दिवसु रहा भरि जामु॥217॥

भावार्थ:-रघुकुल के शिरोमणि प्रभु श्री रामचन्द्रजी ऋषियों के साथ भोजन और विश्राम करके भाई लक्ष्मण समेत बैठे। उस समय पहरभर दिन रह गया था॥217॥

चौपाई :

*लखन हृदयँ लालसा बिसेषी। जाइ जनकपुर आइअ देखी॥
प्रभु भय बहुरि मुनिहि सकुचाहीं। प्रगट न कहहिं मनहिं मुसुकाहीं॥1॥

भावार्थ:-लक्ष्मणजी के हृदय में विशेष लालसा है कि जाकर जनकपुर देख आवें, परन्तु प्रभु श्री रामचन्द्रजी का डर है और फिर मुनि से भी सकुचाते हैं, इसलिए प्रकट में कुछ नहीं कहते, मन ही मन मुस्कुरा रहे हैं॥1॥

* राम अनुज मन की गति जानी। भगत बछलता हियँ हुलसानी॥
परम बिनीत सकुचि मुसुकाई। बोले गुर अनुसासन पाई॥2॥

भावार्थ:-(अन्तर्यामी) श्री रामचन्द्रजी ने छोटे भाई के मन की दशा जान ली, (तब) उनके हृदय में भक्तवत्सलता उमड़ आई। वे गुरु की आज्ञा पाकर बहुत ही विनय के साथ सकुचाते हुए मुस्कुराकर बोले॥2॥

* नाथ लखनु पुरु देखन चहहीं। प्रभु सकोच डर प्रगट न कहहीं॥
जौं राउर आयसु मैं पावौं। नगर देखाइ तुरत लै आवौं॥3॥

भावार्थ:-हे नाथ! लक्ष्मण नगर देखना चाहते हैं, किन्तु प्रभु (आप) के डर और संकोच के कारण स्पष्ट नहीं कहते। यदि आपकी आज्ञा पाऊँ, तो मैं इनको नगर दिखलाकर तुरंत ही (वापस) ले आऊँ॥3॥

* सुनि मुनीसु कह बचन सप्रीती। कस न राम तुम्ह राखहु नीती॥
धरम सेतु पालक तुम्ह ताता। प्रेम बिबस सेवक सुखदाता॥4॥

भावार्थ:-यह सुनकर मुनीश्वर विश्वामित्रजी ने प्रेम सहित वचन कहे- हे राम! तुम नीति की रक्षा कैसे न करोगे, हे तात! तुम धर्म की मर्यादा का पालन करने वाले और प्रेम के वशीभूत होकर सेवकों को सुख देने वाले हो॥4॥

Boleu Muni Pad Nai Siru Gadgad Gambhir ॥215॥
Meaning: In the love of the mind, King Janak took endurance by taking shelter of conscience and bowed his head at the feet of Muni and said to Gadgad (Prembhari) solemn speech – ॥215॥

Bunk:
* Kahuhu Nath beautiful dou boy. Moolikul Tilak’s Spinach
Brahma which is called Nigi Neti Ami Besh Dhari Ki Soi Awa ॥1॥
Meaning: O O Nath! Say, both of these beautiful boys are jewels of Munikul or foster of any dynasty? Or, whose Vedas have sung as ‘Neti’, has not that Brahma come as a couple?
* Spontaneous Manu Mora. Jimi Chand Chakora gets tired
Tate Prabhu should ask Kahuhu Nath Jani Karhu Durau ॥2॥
Connotation: – My mind, which is by nature (made up) of disinterestedness, (seeing these) is enchanted in such a way as to see the moon. Oh, Lord! That is why I ask you the truth. Hey Nath! Tell, do not hide ॥2॥

* He is very innocent. Barabas Brahmasukhi Mani Tyaga
Kah muni bihasi kahehu nripa nika. You are not my friend, Alika ॥3॥
Sense: At the sight of them, my mind has forcibly abandoned Brahmsukh. Muni laughed and said – O Rajan! You were right. Your words cannot be false ॥3॥
* A dear sabhi jaan lagi prani. Mana Musukahin Ramu Suni Bani
Raghukul Mani goes to Dasrath. I am interested in reading Nares ॥4॥

Sense: As far as (as many) beings are in the world, they are loved by all. Hearing the Muni’s (mystery filled) voice, Shri Ramji smiles in his heart (laughing as if indicating that the secret is not revealed). (Then Muni said-) He is the son of Raghukul Mani Maharaj Dasharatha. The king has sent them with me for my benefit ॥4॥
Doha:
* Ramu Lakhanu Dow Bandhubar Roop Seal Bal Dham.
Makh rakheu sabhu sakhi jagu jite asura sangram ॥216॥
Bhaartharth: – These are the abode of Rama and Lakshmana both superior brother form, modesty and force. The whole world (of this thing) is witness that they have protected my yagna by winning the asuras in the war ॥216॥

Bunk:
* Look at the monarch I can not say my punya prabhau
Beautiful Syam Gaur do bhrata Anand donor of Anandhu ॥1॥
Sense: Raja said – O Muni! I cannot say my virtuous effect by seeing your feet. These beautiful Shyam and Gaur varna brothers are also going to give pleasure to Anand.
* His beloved love soul. Never say good mood
Mudit Bidhehu saying Sunhu Nath. Brahma Jiva Iv Sahaj Snehu ॥2॥

Meaning: Their love for each other is very pure and pleasant, it is very pleasing to the mind, but cannot be said (by speech). Videha (Janakji) rejoices and says – O Nath! Listen, they have natural love like Brahma and Jiva ॥2॥
* Puni puni prabhuhi chitta narnahu. Pulak gat ur more ukhahu
Munihi Prasansi Nai Pad Sisu. Chaleau Lavai Nagar Avanisu ॥3॥
Sense: Raja sees the Lord again and again (the vision does not want to go away from there). (With love) the body is pulsing and there is great enthusiasm in the heart. (Then) by praising the sage and bringing the head to his feet, the king drove him to the city.

* Beautiful Sadnu Pleasant All Black. There Basu Lai Dinh Bhuala
Kari Puja Sub Bidhi Ministry. Gayu Rau Griha Bida Gaya ॥4॥
Sense: A beautiful palace which was pleasing all the time (in all seasons), the king took them there and ordered them. Later, after worshiping and serving in all respects, the king went to his house after asking for goodbye.

Doha:
* Raghubans accompanied Rishya to eat food Bishramu.
Sitting with God brother, Dayu remained filled with blessings ॥217॥
Meaning: – Shiromani Prabhu Shri Ramchandraji of Raghukul sat with brother Rishi Lakshman after eating and resting with the sages. At that time, it was left for the whole day ॥217॥
Bunk:
* Lakhan Hridayana craving Biseshi. Jai Janakpur Aiya Dekha
Lord Fear is not very beautiful. Pragati na kahin manhin musukahi ॥1॥

Meaning: – Laxmanji has a special longing in his heart to go and see Janakpur, but the Lord is afraid of Shri Ramchandraji and then also hesitates with the Muni, so he does not say anything in the manifest, the mind is smiling ॥1॥
* Know the speed of Ram Anuj mind. Bhagat bachlata hai hulsani
Param Binit Sakuchi Musukai. Said Gur Anusasan Pai ॥2॥
Meaning: – (Antaryami) Shri Ramchandraji knew the condition of the younger brother’s mind, (then) Bhaktavatsalata came up in his heart. On receiving the Guru’s orders, he smiled very politely and said, ॥2॥

* Nath Lakhanu Puru Dekhon Chahiye Do not say that God is not afraid
Jaun Rour Aisu I Pavon. Nagar dekhi turtat le aawauan ॥3॥
Meaning: O O Nath! Laxman wants to see the city, but does not say clearly because of the fear and hesitation of Prabhu (you). If I get your permission, then I should bring them back as soon as I see the city ॥3॥.
* Suni munisu kaha bachan sapriti. Kas na Ram tum rakhu neeti
Dharam Setu Palak Tumta Taata Prem Bibus Servant Pleasure ॥4॥
Meaning: Hearing this, Munishwar Vishwamitra said the words with love – O Ram! How will you not protect the policy, O Tat! You are the one who follows the dignity of religion and is going to give happiness to the servants by being influenced by love.
