In India, Xiaomi has released the Redmi 11 Prime in both a 4G and a 5G variant, with the 5G variant being the most expensive of the two. There are two storage choices for the 5G version. Design
Compared to the Redmi 11 Prime, the Redmi 11 Prime 5G boasts a more practical design. Simple, curved, black plastic with grooves serves as the rear panel instead of a spectacular, rainbow-colored, color-changing one. An island-shaped structure at the top houses a dual camera arrangement together with a vertically stacked flash module. There aren’t really any design standouts other than the Redmi 5G branding and a cool texture.
Although we are grateful for the 3.5mm connector, we don’t like where it is located on the device. At least for us, putting the phone in our pockets with the head down is much more natural. The cord from a wired headset coils up in the pocket when the headphone socket is pointing up, making it more challenging to remove the phone from our pockets.
The smartphone doesn’t have an IP classification, which is unusual at this pricing point, but Xiaomi has put a rubber seal around the SIM tray for a minimal amount of dust and water protection.Despite including a large battery, the phone weighs 201g, which is manageable but still makes it seem bulky in the hand.
