Asian Weightlifting Championships 2023: India has won the bid to host the Asian Youth and Junior Weightlifting Championships in 2023 in New Delhi, according to the Indian Weightlifting Federation. The Asian Weightlifting Federation’s Executive Board met on July 16, 2023, in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, and decided to award India the championship. Since the Youth, Junior, and Senior Commonwealth Championships in Pune in 2015, this will be India’s first International Weightlifting competition.
India’s recent success in weightlifting on the international stage and the country’s growing international reputation will benefit greatly from hosting such a prestigious tournament. I would like to thank the Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports and Sports Authority of India for its constant support to weightlifting and also for backing us by providing easy clearance for hosting an International Tournament in India,

About Asian Weightlifting Championships
The Asian Weightlifting Federation organizes a weightlifting competition for Asian athletes called the Asian Weightlifting Championships. It has been held starting around 1969 for men and 1988 for ladies. The championships served as the official means by which Asian athletes qualified for the 2008 Beijing Olympics.

Asian Weightlifting Championships when and where to watch?
Bahrain has “finished the assessment without a hitch” in facilitating a significant weightlifting occasion interestingly and is now pointing higher, looking to have a Global Weightlifting League (IWF) Big showdowns. The 2023 Asian Weightlifting Championships have been a huge success with athletes, coaches, technical officials, spectators, the media, and Executive Board members of continental and global governing bodies who decide on hosting rights from the opening ceremony to the final weekend, when Bahrain won its first major medals.
Guests in Manama included IWF Board members from around the world. In spite of having less than three months to prepare, Eshaq Ebrahim Eshaq, President of the Bahrain Weightlifting Federation, and his team accomplished something remarkable. Eshaq is 31 years old. The Asian Weightlifting Federation’s President, Yousef Al Mana, said that the championships were the best he had seen in 25 years in terms of organization and presentation, and that the officiating was also flawless.
