However, despite this weight gain, the overall weight distribution alters as the electric motor is actually lighter than the combustion engine. Upon initial inspection, the new Mini Cooper Electric appears quite similar to its predecessor. This is expected given the iconic nature of the model, but it has undergone thorough modernization to maintain a fresh appearance. The front end now boasts a smoother and simpler design compared to the previous model, with fewer vents in the lower bumper. The round headlights remain a staple feature, while a body-colored strip has been added across the grille.
The side profile closely resembles that of previous Mini models, featuring short overhangs and a sporty wheel-at-each-corner stance, distinguishing it from vehicles like the Fiat 500e. The most significant change can be seen at the rear end, where new triangular LED tail lights have been introduced.
