SSB’s Sashastra Seema Bal transl India has an armed border force, which is stationed along its borders with Nepal and Bhutan. It is one of the seven Central Armed Police Forces under the Ministry of Home Affairs’ (MHA) administrative control. In 1963, following the Sino-Indian War, the force was initially established under the name Special Service Bureau to protect India’s border regions from hostile operations. Following the Sino-Indian War of 1962, the Sashastra Seema Bal was initially established under the name Special Service Bureau (abbreviated SSB) on March 15, 1963 (current raising day is December 20, after the date of presidential assent to the SSB Act, 2007). The force’s primary responsibility was to provide armed assistance to the Intelligence Bureau’s foreign intelligence division, which later became Research and Analysis Wing (after it was established in 1968).
Through a continuous process of motivation, training, development and welfare programs and activities in the then NEFA, North Assam (the northern areas of the Indian state of Assam), North Bengal (the northern areas of the Indian State of West Bengal), and the hills of Uttar Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh, and Ladakh, the secondary objective was to instill feelings of national belonging in the border population and assist them in developing their capabilities for resistance. In 1965, the program was expanded to include Manipur, Tripura, and Jammu; 1975 Meghalaya; 1976 Sikkim; in 1989, the border regions of Gujarat and Rajasthan; Manipur, Mizoram, additional Rajasthani regions, and Gujarat in 1988; South Bengal (West Bengal’s southern regions); in 1989, Nagaland; and the Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir, Rajouri, and the Nubra Valley in 1991.

As a result of the SSB’s announcement of 1522 open positions in Sashastra Seema Bal, GOI, Ministry of Home Affairs, Advt No. 338, RC, SSB, Combined Advertisement, online applications from qualified candidates were invited. Driver and Tradesman PET/PST Hall Tickets will be available for download in the coming days for those who applied for the SSB Tradesman Vacancy 2024.
The advertisement states that the SSB Constable Tradesman Selection Process will consist of multiple rounds, with a Physical Test (PET / PST) in the first round, a Written Exam in the second round, and a Documentation (DV) and Skill Test in the final round.
The SSB Constable Tradesman Physical Exam Admit Card 2024 will be made available on the SSB Recruitment website, www.ssbrectt.gov.in, to candidates who have been determined to be eligible.
