A seven-speed DCT unit handles transmission duties. With the base super four-chamber, the Macan limits to 60 mph in 5.0 seconds. Speed aficionados will want to upgrade to the twin-turbo V-6-powered S model, but it feels good around town. At our test track, the Macan S was a couple of moments behind the more impressive GTS with a 3.8-second zero-to-60-mph time.
Despite the fact that an SUV probably does not need to accelerate as rapidly off the line, the Macan S accelerates significantly faster than the Audi SQ5 and Jaguar F-Pace S. The Macan gets a new layout for the instrument cluster dials and its signature analog clock at the top of the dashboard inside the cabin.
