These cooperative societies go under the titles Sahara Credit Cooperative Society Limited, Saharayn Universal Multipurpose Society Limited, Hamara India Credit Cooperative Society Limited, and Stars Multipurpose Cooperative Society Limited. On March 29, the government pledged to refund the 10 crore investors in the four cooperative societies of the Sahara Group within nine months. The Sahara-SEBI refund account was ordered to transfer Rs 5,000 crore to the CRCS by the Supreme Court. To support Sahara Group cooperative society investors, the Ministry of Cooperation petitioned the Supreme Court. Payment of Rs 5,000 crore to CRCS was mandated by the Supreme Court.
