अरुणाचल प्रदेश के बोमडिला में सेना का एक चीता हेलीकॉप्टर गुरुवार को दुर्घटनाग्रस्त हो गया। सेना ने पायलटों की तलाश के लिए सर्च ऑपरेशन शुरू कर दिया गया है। पिछले साल अक्तूबर में भी तवांग क्षेत्र में सेना का एक चीता हेलीकॉप्टर दुर्घटनाग्रस्त हुआ था, जिसमें एक पायलट की इलाज के दौरान मौत हो गई थी।
रक्षा प्रवक्ता लेफ्टिनेंट कर्नल महेंद्र रावत ने बताया कि गुरुवार सुबह करीब 9.15 बजे अरुणाचल प्रदेश के बोमडिला के पास एक ऑपरेशनल सॉर्टी के दौरान आर्मी एविएशन के चीता हेलीकॉप्टर के एटीसी से संपर्क टूटने की सूचना मिली थी। बाद में पता चला कि हेलीकॉप्टर बोमडिला के पश्चिम में मंडला के पास दुर्घटनाग्रस्त हो गया है। सेना की ओर से पायलटों की खोजबीन के लिए राहत व बचाव कार्य शुरू कर दी गई है।

पिछले साल पांच अक्तूबर को अरुणचाल प्रदेश के तवांग में एक नियमित उड़ान के दौरान सेना का चीता हेलीकॉप्टर दुर्घटनाग्रस्त हो गया था। इस हादसे में सेना के दो पायलट घायल हो गए थे, जिनमें से एक ने इलाज के दौरान दम तोड़ दिया था। सेना के अधिकारी ने बताया था यह दुर्घटना सुबह करीब 10 बजे एक नियमित उड़ान के दौरान तवांग के आग्रिम क्षेत्र जेमीथांक सर्कल के बाप टेंग कांग जलप्रपात क्षेत्र के पास न्यामजांग चू में हुई। हेलीकॉप्टर दो पायलटों के साथ सुरवा सांबा क्षेत्र से नियमित उड़ान पर आ रहा था।
दुर्घटना की सूचना मिलने के बाद वहां राहत बचाव टीम मौके पर पहुंची फिर दो गंभीर रूप से घायल पायलटों को बाहर निकाला गया और एंबुलेंस से अस्पताल ले जाया गया। दोनों पायलटों में से एक लेफ्टिनेंट कर्नल सौरभ यादव की इलाज के दौरान मौत हो गई थी। तवांग में यह पहला हेलीकॉप्टर हादसा नहीं था। 2017 में वायु सेना के Mi-17 V5 हेलीकॉप्टर के दुर्घटनाग्रस्त होने के बाद IAF के पांच चालक दल के सदस्य और सेना के दो अधिकारी मारे गए थे।
