You should remove the forest of Khandavprastha and build a city for yourself, so that there is no difference between you and my sons.” . If you stay in your place, no one will be able to harm you. You stay in Khandavprastha protected by Partha and enjoy half the kingdom. ”

According to Dhritarashtra the Pandavas left Hastinapur. With the assurance of half the state he removed the forests of Khandavaprastha. After that the Pandavas beautified the city with the help of Maya demon along with Shri Krishna. The city became like a second heaven. After that, in the presence of all the maharathis and representatives of the states, there was a great yajna and grihapravesh ritual organized in connection with Dvaipayan Vyasa. After that, surrounded by a wide moat like the ocean, the heaven surrounded by skyscrapers and the white city like the moon or the dry clouds, it started to look like Bhogwati Nagar, the capital of the Nagas.

This beautiful city, established by the Pandavas, had innumerable territories and numerous gates. Each of the gates opened like garuda’s huge spread wings. There were huge gates like Mandarachal mountain in the wall to protect this city. Even a single arrow of enemies could not touch this safe city equipped with weapons.

There were cannons and centenaries on its walls, like double snakes. Burjis were armed with armed forces. Large iron chakras were also installed on those walls. The roads here were wide and clean. There was no fear of accident on him.

This city, equipped with magnificent palaces, attics and palaces, competed against Indra’s Amravati. Due to this, it was named ‘Indraprastha’. The Pandavas palace was located in the best part of this city. It had treasures and reserves similar to Kubera’s. Seeing it so full of splendor, eyes like Damini’s eyes were widened.

As a result of Bhishma Pitamah and Dhritarashtra’s moral behavior towards themselves, the Pandavas converted Khandavprastha into Indraprastha. Pandu’s son Arjuna, along with Shri Krishna, burnt the Khandava forest and satiated the fire, relieving the rain made by Indra with the bind of his arrows. There Arjuna and Krishna defeated all the gods in battle. As a result, Arjuna received the divine Gandiva bow and the best chariot from Agni Dev. He had got chariots like Lord Shri Krishna in the war and he had received divine weapons like Brahmastra etc. and never-ending arrows from Dronacharya.

Indra was very pleased to see the valor of his son Arjuna. At his instance, Devashilpi Vishwakarma and Maya Demon together built the Khandava forest into a grand city as Indrapuri, which was named ‘Indraprastha’.
