(चण्ड और मुण्ड का वध) (Durga सप्तशती )
जय माँ दुर्गा तेरी सदा ही जय हो ।
Durga सप्तशती के छठवे अध्याय में धूम्रलोचन असुर का सेना सहित अंत पढ़ा । महर्षि मेधा ने कहा-दैत्यराज की आज्ञा पाकर चण्ड और मुण्ड चतुरंगिनी सेना को साथ लेकर हथियार उठाये हुए(Durga) देवी से लड़ने के लिए चल दिये। हिमालय पर्वत पर पहुँच कर उन्होंने मुस्कुराती हुई (Durga)देवी जो सिंह पर बैठी हुई थी देखा । जब असुर उनको पकड़ने के लिए तलवारें लेकर उनकी ओर बढ़े । तब अम्बिका को उन पर बड़ा क्रोध आया । और मारे क्रोध के उनका मुख काला पड़ गया । उनकी भृकुटियाँ चढ़ गई । और उनके ललाट में से अत्यंत भयंकर तथा अत्यंत विस्तृत मुख वाली, लाल आँखों वाली काली प्रकट हुई । जो कि अपने हाथों में तलवार और पाश लिये हुए थी । वह विचित्र खड्ग धारण किये हुए थी । तथा चीते के चर्म की साड़ी एवं नरमुण्डों की माला पहन रखी थी। उसका माँस सूखा हुआ था । और शरीर केवल हड्डियों का ढाँचा था । जिससे और डरावनी प्रतीत होती थी । और जो भयंकर शब्द से दिशाओं को पूर्ण कर रही थी । वह असुर सेना पर टूट पड़ी और दैत्यों का भक्षण करने लगी।

वह पार्श्व रक्षकों, अंकुशधारी महावतों, हाथियों पर सवार योद्धाओं और घण्टा सहित हाथियों को एक हाथ से पकड़-पकड़ कर अपने मुँह में डाल रही थी । और इसी प्रकार वह घोड़ों, रथों, सारथियों व रथों में बैठे हुए सैनिकों को मुँह में डालकर भयानक रूप से चबा रही थी । वह (Durga)देवी किसी के केश पकड़कर, किसी को पैरों से दबाकर और किसी दैत्य को छाती से मसलकर मार रही थी । वह दैत्यो के छोड़े हुए बड़े-बड़े अस्त्र-शस्त्रों को मुँह में पकड़कर और क्रोध में भर उनको दाँतों में पीस रही थी । उसने कई बड़े-बड़े अस्त्र-शस्त्रों सहित असुर भक्षण कर डाले । कितनों को रौंद डाला । और कितने उसकी मार के मारे भाग गये । कितनों को उसने तलवार से मार डाला । कितनों को अपने दाँतों से समाप्त कर दिया । और इस प्रकार से देवी ने क्षण भर में सम्पूर्ण दैत्य सेना को नष्ट कर दिया।
यह देख महा पराक्रमी दैत्य चण्ड काली देवी की ओर लपका । और मुण्ड ने भी देवी पर अपने भयानक बाणों की वर्षा आरम्भ कर दी । और अपने हजारों चक्र उस पर छोड़े । उस समय वह चमकते हुए बाण व चक्र देवी के मुख में प्रविष्ट हुए इस प्रकार दिख रहे थे जैसे मानो बहुत से सूर्य मेघों की घटा में प्रविष्ट हो रहे हों । इसके पश्चात भयंकर शब्द के साथ काली ने अत्यन्त जोश में भरकर विकट अट्टहास किया। उसका भयंकर मुख देखा नहीं जाता था, उसके मुख से श्वेत दाँतों की पंक्ति चमक रही थी, फिर उसने तलवार हाथ में लेकर “हूँ” शब्द कहकर चण्ड के ऊपर आक्रमण किया और उसके केश पकड़कर उसका सिर काटकर अलग कर उसका अंत कर दिया । चण्ड को मरा हुआ देखकर मुण्ड देवी की ओर लपखा परन्तु देवी ने क्रोध में भरे उसे भी अपनी तलवार से यमलोक पहुँचा दिया।
चण्ड और मुण्ड को मरा हुआ देखकर उसकी बाकी बची हुई सेना भयपुर्वक वहाँ से भाग गई। इसके पश्चात काली चण्ड और मुण्ड के कटे हुए सिरों को लेकर चण्डिका के पास गई और प्रचण्ड अट्टहास के साथ कहने लगी-हे देवी! चण्ड और मुण्ड दो ( महापशुओ) महा दैत्यों को मारकर तुम्हें भेंट कर दिया है । अब शुम्भ और निशुम्भ का तुमको स्वयं वध करना है।
महर्षि मेधा ने कहा-वहाँ लाये हुए चण्ड और मुण्ड के सिरों को देखकर कल्याणकायी चण्डी ने काली से मधुर वाणी में कहा-हे देवी! तुम चूँकि चण्ड और मुण्ड को मेरे पास लेकर आई हो । इसलिए संसार में चामुण्डा के नाम से तुम्हारी ख्याति होगी। आठवां अध्याय पढने के लिए यहाँ क्लिक करें ।

She was holding the elephants in her mouth with one hand, holding the lateral guards, the marksmen Mahavats, the warriors riding on the elephants, and the bells. And in the same way, she was chewing horribly by putting horses, chariots, charioteers, and soldiers sitting in chariots. The goddess was holding someone’s hair, pressing someone with her feet, and mashing a monster with her chest. She was holding large weapons left in the mouth of the demons and grinding them into her teeth in anger. He devoured asura with many big weapons and weapons. Trample some And how many escaped after killing him. He killed some with the sword. Finished some with their teeth. And thus the Goddess destroyed the entire monster army in a moment.
Seeing this, the mighty giant Chand jumped towards Kali Devi. And Mund also started showering his terrible arrows on the goddess. And leave thousands of your chakras on it. At that time, he was seen shining in the face of the arrow and Chakra Devi, as if many suns were entering the cloud of clouds. After this, Kali, with fierce words, filled her with a lot of enthusiasm and took a terrible attack. His fierce face was not seen, the line of white teeth was shining from his mouth, then he attacked the Chand by saying the word “I” with the sword in his hand and grabbed his hair and cut off his head and put an end to it. Seeing Chand dead, Mund rushed towards the goddess, but the goddess, filled with anger, also brought him to Yamlok with her sword.
Seeing Chand and Mund dead, the rest of his army fled fearlessly. After this, Kali went to Chandika with the severed ends of Chand and Mund and Prachanda started to say with astonishment – O Goddess! Chand and Mund two (Mahapashuo) have killed the great demons and presented you. Now you have to kill Shumbh and Nishumbh yourself.

[…] Durga सप्तशती के सातवे अध्याय में चण्ड और … महर्षि मेधा ने कहा-चण्ड और मुण्ड नामक असुरों के मारे जाने से और बहुत सी सेना के नष्ट हो जाने से असुरों के राजा, प्रतापी शुम्भ ने क्रोध युक्त होकर अपनी सम्पूर्ण सेना को युद्ध के लिये तैयार होने की आज्ञा दी। उसने कहा-अब उदायुध नामक छियासी असुर सेनापति अपनी सेनाओं के साथ युद्ध के लिये जायें और कम्बू नामक चौरासी सेनापति भी युद्ध के लिये जाएँ | और कोटि वीर्य नामक पचास सेनापति और धौम्रकुल नाम के सौ सेनापति मेरी आज्ञा से प्रस्थान करें | कालक, दौहृद, मौर्य और कालकेय यह दैत्य भी मेरी आज्ञा से सजकर युद्ध के लिए कूच करें | भयानक शासन करने वाला असुरों का स्वामी शुम्भ इस प्रकार आज्ञा देकर बहुत बड़ी सेना के साथ युद्ध के लिए प्रस्थित हुआ । उसकी सेना को अपनी ओर आता देखकर चण्डिका ने अपनी धनुष की टंकोर से पृथ्वी और आकाश के बीच का भाग गुँजा दिया। […]
[…] शुम्भ ने जब यह सुना कि देवी ने धूम्रलोचन असुर को मार डाला है और उसके सिंह ने सारी सेना का संहार कर डाला है तब उसको बड़ा क्रोध आया। उसके मारे क्रोध के ओंठ फड़कने लगे | और उसने चण्ड तथा मुण्ड नामक महा असुरों को आज्ञा दी-हे चण्ड! हे मुण्ड! तुम अपने साथ एक बड़ी सेना लेकर वहाँ जाओ और उस देवी के बाल पकड़कर उसे बाँधकर तुरन्त यहाँ ले आओ। यदि उसको यहाँ लाने में किसी प्रकार का सन्देह हो तो अपनी सेना सहित उससे लड़ते हुए उसको मार डालो और जब वह दुष्टा और उसका सिंह दोनो मारे जावें | तब भी उस अम्बिका को बाँधकर यहाँ ले आना। सातवाँ अध्याय पढने के लिए यहाँ क्लिक क… […]
